At the University of Wien he is the director of the outpatient section of Psychiatry and of the Mood Disorder department.
Andreas Erfurth is author of more than 150 papers on mood disorders on national and international journals. In particular, he focused on biological and clinical aspects and on long term treatment of bipolar disorder.
