Dr. Akiskal is professor of psychiatry and director of the International Mood Center at the University of California in San Diego. He developed numerous international collaborations for the research on Mood Disorder; in this field he is considered the most important international authority and received numerous and prestigious awards. He is Editor of the Affective Disorders Journal and vice-president of ISAD.
